I've just discovered SgfMan and your upgraded PilotGOne. Congratulations. SgfMan will be very useful and the upgraded PilotGOne will also be much appreciated by users with newer handhelds.

I think you should identify yourself and give contact details on the SgfMan page or on your Go blog, so you can receive credit, and so users can contact you directly.

I hope you are in contact with the PilotGOne developer Sylvain Soliman so that you can cooperate to produce the best possible PilotGOne.

I found that PilotGOne does not recognise some BIG5 characters. For example, every time "因" appears in comment, it will become "|" and the characters afterwards will be truncated. Another character with similar problem is "也".

Thanks for your comments on borth SgfMan and pilotGone. I'm working on a new project which is actually IGS/NNGS client for Palm OS. That's why I didn't update my Blogger for quite a while. I've realized some issues like SgfMan does not recognize SD card on live Drive and 5 way navigation of PilotGone does not work very well on newer Palm handheld.

Regarding the issue that some BIG5 characters do not display properly. I know the reason but I can't fix it now, because the lower byte of BIG5 encoding of 因 (A6 5D) and 也 (A4 5D) happens to be 5D which is ASCII "]" and is a special character according to SGF specification. Basicly "[" and "]" is the indicators of a property in an node (Node is the smallest infomation unit of SGF file). Anything out of "[" and "]" will be dicarded if it's not property's name. That's why any comment after 因 and 也 are truncated.

Two requests and a bug report:

Could you please add 3 dimensional stones in Zoom mode and in 9x9 mode, so they look as good as 13x13 and 19x19 modes?

In score mode, could you please display the score as B+1.5 instead of B48.5 W47, as this is more conventional?

In a 9x9 game, if you enter Zoom mode (which is unnecessary, but possible), the board is then incorrectly displayed with more than 9x9 lines. If you then move forward in a game, or return to the 9x9 board and move forward, you get a fatal exception requiring a soft reset.

I just installed the new version 0.9.0 on my Palm Zire 31, which is not a very good palm, but it is mine :) It has 180x180 resolution.

What troubles me is the color of the board. On pilotgone 0.8.1, the board was lighter, so I didn't have to use much contrast and much brightness. With pilotgone 0.9.0, I have to use more, so the battery will finish earlier. So - can you change back the color to the lighter one? Or maybe there is another solution...

Also, what would be nice to achive (and I guess it is not difficult to do) is to have the option of mapping on a button (date button or contact button) Game Info. The reason is that I created a script which modifies the sgf files from goproblems.com, and in the fields in Game Info (black player, white player, date) I put plenty of information: problem number, player to move, problem type, strength. So - is it possible to do it?

This message is also being sent by e-mail at pilotgone-user@ithil.org.
